Aquatic Therapy
Our aquatic programs feature 2 therapeutic pools, a certified staff and specialized aquatic exercise equipment. Patients needing rehabilitation or fitness will find enjoyable, yet challenging ways to exercise in our 87-90 degree, handicap-accessible pools. The gentle, flotation of aquatic therapy often allows patients the ability to do more exercise than they could accomplish on land. Aerobic capacity and conditioning improve, along with balance, coordination, flexibility, strength and posture. Those suffering from most degenerative illnesses or injuries frequently find relief with aquatic therapy.
Aquatic therapy is especially helpful for patients with multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, spinal stenosis, chronic neck and back pain, obesity, disc injuries or simply wanting to improve their overall fitness.
Early rehabilitation of conditions that limit a person’s weightbearing such as ACL repairs, total joint replacements, or stress fractures, can be initiated due to the water’s buoyant effects.
Utilizing the water’s increased resistance to motion as a tool, the body responds quickly with improved strength, heightened flexibility, and a measurably increased aerobic capacity.
